History
In 2001, a group of parents began searching for an education program that would provide the highest quality academic program combined with child-centered teaching and learning. The group chose the Montessori Method over the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP).
The Montessori Program is an internationally recognized education method with strong a strong scientific basis and a 100 year history of providing a unique and enriching education and whose students’ academic results consistently outperform students educated by traditional teaching methods. Unlike the IB PYP, which has no pre-primary curriculum and which requires each school to develop curricula as part of the process of gaining accreditation, the Montessori Primary Years Program offers the same philosophy of learning, yet provides a scientifically developed and cohesive curriculum which is supported by the learning in the Montessori Casa dei Bambini Program.
IMS opened its doors in September 2002, and now serves over 225 children from age 3 to 12., and hundreds of families join our Toddler groups as well.
IMS has a singular mission: to enable each child to develop their individual gifts within a caring, supportive, respectful and fully bilingual community.
