I wish I'd been to a school like this....
 

As we celebrate our tenth year of working to create this new dual-language schooling opportunity in Hong Kong, we are so happy to see the reality around us. The families that have joined the IMS community reflect the cultural diversity of Hong Kong, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to watch these charmers grow and achieve their independence.

In 2002, the idea of opening a school that offered each child the opportunity to reach his or her own potential without limits, and with the structure and support of the Montessori curriculum, was a dream. The reality is now taking place around us, and we are delighted to witness it in action and is indeed amazing. Our children are calmer at home and proud of what they are doing at school. Parents are hearing (some report for the first time) "Let me do it myself!" from our youngest children who are now excited that they know how to do it themselves – and that this is important to them. Our Primary school children are learning in a supportive environment, where they are challenged to pursue knowledge according to their interests - and to achieve astounding results.

Ten years on, the little ones who entered the school are now graduating, and are demonstrating the difference a Montessori education makes in the development of a whole person. Our children have the wonderful Chinese levels we wanted for them, as well as the confidence and competence offered to children who pursue intellectual pursuits in context. It is so wonderful to see!

We are GROWING! We are delighted that our little school which started in a small office building on Queen’s Road East in 2002 has now grown to encompass two small, intimate campuses for our youngest children in South Horizons and Mid-Levels and our Primary Years / Elementary program is housed in a lovely, purpose-built primary campus located at #62 Tin Hau Temple Road. We now have room in which to grow, and continuity for our programs and children.
